Sissy Still Like the Sink More Than I Thought This morning I heard Mark downstairs saying well, well, well, what have we here. I knew it couldn't be good. I went downstairs and found sissy sitting in my new sink, licking the water on the bottom of the sink. No, it just wasn't right. This little grey cat was sitting in a small ball in my kitchen sink. She is a silly cat. I scooped her up and off we went to get her something to drink other than in my sink.

Sissy likes to go to slept on my lap every night Sissy loves to come upstairs early to bed and lay on my lap. I say she pushes me into bed so she can sit n my lap. She makes me laugh. She will come upstairs at 7 or 8 pm and sleep until 5 or 6am. Not Earl Grey he likes to tool around until 2 or 3 am and then comes to bed and usually only sleeps 5am. He is the night owl!!!

Flea Treatment Earl Grey and Sissy are 3 &1/2 years old and Sissy still freaks out every month when I put flea treatment on her. I have to sneak up and put it on the back of her neck as fast as possible - and she runs for me for the next hour. She won't come near me. Earl takes it in his stride. And, another month will pass and the same routine :)

Earl Grey & Sissy Get New Toys for Christmas Two wrapped gifts were on the coffee table in our home while we were eating dinner. All of a sudden we saw Sissy on the coffee table and she took one of the gifts off the table and unwrapped it and went crazy with her new catnip fish. Funnest thing we ever saw. Earl Grey eventually joined her with his catnip mouse. Around 3am we heard them both tossing their toys around in the foyer for at least a half-hour.They love those toys!!!
Thanks Trish and Natalie, Love Earl Grey & Sissy

Christmas Trees and Cats Christmas Trees and Cats don't usually go together. But my cats sure do love to knock the bulbs off the tree. They have a blast, so I make sure they are none breakable blubs on the bottom of the tree. And I have a bird tree that they just love. They are in-door cats, so I don't mind if they pull the bird ornaments off the tree and drag them around the house. They are also on-breakable designed just for kitty fun. Remember to make sure you have kitty safe holiday decorations; no tinsel, breakable tree bulbs, poinsettia plants, etc...
Happy Holidays!

Earl Grey & Sissy Goes to the Vet Well it's that time of the year, both my babies had their yearly examine and shots. They were scared to death, as soon as they went into their carrying crate they knew something wasn't right : ) Earl Grey sat on Mark's lap in the Vet office - Earl Grey never sits on your lap. We had to pop the top off the crate to get Sissy out. Good news both are very healthy and Earl Grey's teeth look good. He had to have his teeth cleaned earlier this year - so that was good news. Sissy has good teeth too. Glad that's over until next year!

They Love a Helium Balloon Every time I bring home a helium balloon it gets crazy in our house. Earl Grey and Sissy drag it around the house for hours. Actually, they take turns running with it ! It is soooo funny to watch. And, when we come home at night - every night it's in a different room. Sometimes in the cellar, sometimes in the dining room and sometimes it's on our 2nd floor. They are a trip and so much fun to live with. We are smitten...can you tell?

Earl Grey & Sissy's Most Excellent Vacation This was Earl Grey & Sissy's first vacation. We rented a camp about 40 minutes from our home. At first they thought they were going to the Vet so there was some meowing. But, I imagine it was a pleasant surprise when we arrived at the camp. Of course, we scoped it out before letting them loose to make sure they had no mouse or ant traps, etc... The coast was clear and they had a ball investigating every inch of the camp. They ran around like fools, chasing one another --it was fun to watch. The only problem, was the double bed wasn't big enough for all four of us. Earl Grey spread out like he normally does and Sissy slept on my pillow, which she never does. So, it was a little cramped! None the less, we're glad we brought them. When they were 4 or 5 months old we took them on a weekend trip to a fancy hotel, of course we brought them in a cat carrier duffle bag that looked like normal luggage - I don't think they allowed animals: ) I was worried Earl Grey would meow - we got in no problem, but it was hard to keep him quiet during our stay. We had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door for the entire time we were there. They slept on towels in the bath tub because they would not go to sleep otherwise. They kept jumping from one bed to the other, so lights out in the bathroom and we all got a good nights sleep. Always an adventure when we bring them along.

Furry Ferret I brought home a toy called Furry Ferret and Earl Grey and Sissy are crazy over it. It feels like bunny fur and it has a rattle in it. Earl Grey carries it all over the house in his mouth meowing at the same time. I think he thinks it's his baby. However, he does throw it against the wall a dozen times a day. So maybe he doesn't think it's his baby!!! Often I find it at my feet when I get up in the morning. Poor ferret is taking a beating everyday.

Something just seemed wrong! And, I was right. Sissy wasn't getting up in the morning for her food or even to watch her beloved birds in the window sill. She's a tiny girl of only 6 lbs 2 ozs. to begin with, so losing weight isn't good. I called the Vet and brought her in. Sissy was down to 5 lbs 4 ozs. Not good. The Vet's examine indicated that all her organs seemed to be running well, heart, lungs, but her temperature was elevated. They took blood, which came back fine. The Vet gave her an antibiotic shot and gave me an oral antibiotic to give her starting the next day. Now that is a whole lot of fun : ) if anyone has ever given medication to a cat you would understand, it is difficult at best. The next day she ate a little better and each day since she seems better, but still not her normal self. The Vet isn't exactly sure what it is, a virus of some sort. Hopefully she is back to her old self soon. Of course, I'm a nervous wreck when either Sissy or Earl Grey get sick. Oh, if only they could talk!!!! I'll keep you posted.
